What to look at before buying a used 7Artisans lens
- Start with the backlit photos of the front and rear elements: no fungus, haze or scratches. Ask the shop if they are missing
- Look at the focus ring, zoom ring and mount flange in the photos: rubber that is not loose or swollen and little scuffing on the metal mean light use. For stabilised or motorised lenses, ask the shop before ordering if the listing does not say they were tested
- Make sure the mount matches your camera; it is stated on every product page. A wrong mount needs an adapter or will not fit at all
- Read the box-contents list for front cap, rear cap and hood; some hoods are hard to find and expensive on their own
The same model may be sold by several shops in different grades and at different prices. Open the model page to compare every unit.
About 7Artisans
7Artisans makes manual lenses easy to try without spending much, pairing wide apertures with beginner-friendly prices. The draw is character rather than clinical perfection: soft glow wide open, strong subject separation, and a slower, more deliberate way of shooting. Mounts commonly include Fujifilm X, Sony E and Micro Four Thirds — always confirm the exact mount on the listing, and read the shop’s optics notes with the condition grade before ordering.
